Insomnia Shortens Your Life

When you sleep many vital activities in your body happen. Activities which are carried out only when you sleep. If these activities are not carried out, you expose your body and your psyche to intense pressures. Lack of sleep leads therefore to an increased risk of disease. You also increase the risk that your life may be shortened. There are many studies showing that human are more susceptible to a range of illnesses if your sleep needs are not met.
The immune system is weakened when you sleep poorly. The body produces fewer antibodies after a vaccination if you sleep poorly. The body’s control of blood sugar levels are affected when you do not sleep enough. This may cause you to develop diabetes.
Burnout is considered to be due to a major lack of sleep and a deficit of deep sleep. When you are under stress, you increase your risk of developing a less good sleep, which in turn can lead to burnout.
Many research results also show that disturbed sleep maybe one reason for depression.
